EUROPEAN COATING SHOW 2023 Last week on the 28-30 of March, Vinavil participated in the European Coating Show in Nuremberg. The stand was completely renovated with new corporate graphics and welcomed many Italian and foreign people. We were happy to notice a lot of curiosity from new, potential and existing customers and distributors. The meetings were managed by the various Sales Area Managers and colleagues from R&D and Technical Assistance. Finally, after 4 years there was a return to a dynamic and effervescent reality filled with air of opportunity and optimism. It was a very constructive and successful occasion for the whole Vinavil team, which had 37 colleagues attending from Vinavil S.p.A., Vinavil Egypt and Vinavil Americas.
We would like to thank all the people who came to visit us and we warmly welcome all of you who suscribed to our Newsletter!

Vinavil Spa has undertaken the project on the Culture of Safety with the company SafeStart. The objective is to develop safety skills for all personnel, focusing on the Human Factor. The SafeStart methodology has been designed to support the involvement of workers and make them at the forefront as key players in the reduction of critical errors, those that generate the greatest risk of injury or accident. The project was launched in January with the meeting dedicated to the corporate Management Team. The workshops were held in February at the production sites in Ravenna and Villadossola and also at the HQ offices in Milan. The coaching of 12 internal SafeStart Trainers has just finished. They will be the ones to develop internal training for all Vinavil personnel at the Italian level.
Safety is considered the number one value for our company and SafeStart is the key program that helps us keep people safe in and out of the workplace.
We have the goal to build an effective safety culture by helping people in developing new safety skills that can prevent injuries at work, at home or on the road. |

Vinavil is participating in the circular economy project CROSS LIFE, funded by the European Community, which involves integrated management of sewage sludge. The organic matter contained in municipal and industrial wastewater (WWTS) becomes the raw material for the synthesis of bio-based chemicals. The ultimate goal is to decrease the volume of sludge to be treated at the end of its life and to exploit the sludge as a raw material to produce bio-based crotonic acid and its poly(vinyl acetate-co-crotonic acid), instead of using fossil sources. Crotonic acid, currently 100 percent fossil-based, is used by Vinavil in the production of adhesives. Together with Vinavil, companies (B-Plas, Unigrà and AqA) and universities (UniBo, UniPV) are participating in the project; two DEMO plants (capable of processing 1,000 t/y of WWTS) are planned to be built, which will allow a reduction in the volume of WWTS (about 70-80%) and will produce a few tons a year of crotonic acid of biological origin.Vinavil will use the bio-based crotonic acid to produce poly(vinyl acetate-co-crotonic acid) during (and after) the project, benefiting from the introduction of a new bio-based monomer to its polymer portfolio. |
