Obtained last April, the ISCC+ (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) for the Villadossola plant enables Vinavil to offer its customers environmentally friendly solutions, promoting the use of certified sustainable raw materials to enhance the sustainability characteristics of its products.

The dispersions with the BIO suffix are products in which fossil resources are reduced by introducing sustainable raw materials. For the Bio-attributed products, the substitution is based on the mass balance principle according to ISCC+ requirements, verified and certified by an independent third party.

The proposed solutions are mostly “drop-in,” allowing for the simple replacement of the current product with a more sustainable one, without the need for technical requalification.

The Bio-attributed products will be available very soon, and their supply will be accompanied by a “sustainability declaration” indicating the allocated amount of renewable raw materials (ranging from 5% to 40%, depending on the product).

AVISA CONFERENCE - RESULTS

On May 28, 2024, at Villa Quaranta Tommasi Wine Hotel & SPA in Pescantina, Verona, the conference titled “Sustainability and Debonding: New Challenges for the Wood and Furniture Adhesives Industry” took place. Organized by Federchimica-Avisa, the event provided a significant opportunity to discuss two critical topics for the sector: sustainability and debonding.

During the conference, manufacturers of wood and furniture adhesives, decorative materials, substrates, and furniture, along with academics and researchers, discussed the challenges and opportunities related to these themes. The meeting promoted innovative and sustainable solutions to improve the environmental impact of the industry.

There were numerous contributions from various industry players who, despite the market crisis and significant decline in sales volumes, are working hard and investing in sustainability issues. Particularly noteworthy were the presentations from international speakers, including IKEA and the Fraunhofer Institute, who offered additional insights into innovation in this field.

The 80 attendees at the conference not only listened to the presentations but also delved into specific topics during the discussion moderated by Fabio Chiozza, VinaviL's Coordinator of the Wood and Furniture Adhesives Sector at Federchimica AVISA.

Claudia Raucci from Vinavil also provided valuable input on the company's sustainability vision, specifically addressing practical approaches to measuring sustainability and concrete examples beneficial to users of the product range.

The prestigious and welcoming venue facilitated and encouraged the exchange of information and informal dialogue among the various industry players and experts present, creating an atmosphere of utmost familiarity and professionalism.

ASCONA JAZZ FESTIVAL WITH VINAVIL GLUE

VINAVIL sponsored artist Yuri Catania, who created 40 murals throughout Ascona, Switzerland, in anticipation of the 40th Ascona Jazz Festival, taking place June 21-29.

Invited by Ascona Jazz Festival, Yuri Catania used VINAVIL NPC Stella Bianca glue to adhere his photographs to the village walls. His images range from night-lit flowers to New Orleans jazz musicians, reflecting Ascona's sister city relationship with New Orleans. These photos, taken in his park at night, were printed in large format, meticulously cut out with community volunteers, and assembled using the paste-up technique. The resulting collages create the illusion that jazz musicians are performing amidst the flowers, showcasing a three-dimensional effect unique to plotter printing. Each mural is a unique expression, depcting 40 different jazz musicians, both living and deceased, but brought to life through art.

Moreover, with the ARTIVISIVE app (available for Apple and Android), visitors can view videos by framing the murals with their phones. These videos, produced by Yuri Catania, feature New Orleans jazz musicians in their performances, offering a remarkable sensory experience from natural to digital. This innovative interaction has generated an enthusiastic response from those encountering these special, handmade and animated murals.

VINAVIL played an active role in the mural creation process. Volunteers, under the artist's supervision, used brushes to apply glue and attach floral details to the wall of a church. It was a fun and engaging experience!

Come visit Ascona! The murals will be on display not only during the Festival but also throughout the summer, until autumn weather gradually wears them away.

NEW CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM MEMBER

Giorgia Romano, the new sales assistant within Vinavil's customer service team, graduated in Oriental Languages, Business, and Chinese Marketing. After her degree, she moved to Shanghai, China, where she completed a master’s program and began her career in the commercial sector of an Italian company. In 2018, she returned to Italy, holding various positions such as shop assistant and foreign sales representative for China before joining the Vinavil family.
